OP-17 Release: Date, contents and pre-order — everything you need to know
In brief: OP-17 "The World's Strongest Warriors" is the fourth-anniversary set of the One Piece Card Game. The Japanese version will be released on Saturday, 22 August 2026, with the English version following on 28 August (pre-release events on 21 August). The set focuses on the Four Emperors and the new island of Elbaf.
When is OP-17 released?
The dates have been officially confirmed by Bandai:
- Japanese version: 22 August 2026
- English version (pre-release): 21 August 2026
- English version (regular release): 28 August 2026
Bandai announced OP-17 in March as the start of the "Global Simultaneous Release". In practice, there are six days between the Japanese and English releases — closer together than ever before in the history of the game. The days when the English version lagged months behind a Japanese set are now over.
What kind of set is OP-17?
OP-17 is the anniversary booster celebrating the One Piece Card Game's fourth birthday. According to Bandai's official product page, the set contains 131 cards plus 4 special cards. The set focuses on the Four Emperors and the Elbaf arc — the manga's current storyline.
The first card reveals have been running since mid-June. A Treasure Rare slot has been confirmed, among other things. Based on experience, anniversary sets attract significantly more demand than regular boosters — OP-13, the last main anniversary set, sold out completely within days.
Pre-ordering the Japanese version — what to look out for
The Japanese version is not only released earlier; historically, it has also been the version with stronger price performance for sealed products. Here is what you should look out for when pre-ordering:
- Guaranteed allocation: Many retailers accept pre-orders without guaranteeing a specific quantity. Ask whether your order has a guaranteed allocation.
- Shipping from Switzerland: If you order from Switzerland through EU or JP retailers, customs and import tax will be added. A Swiss retailer with stock in Switzerland saves you that.
- Price comparison at release: Anniversary sets often launch at a premium. Compare the booster box price with the Japanese market price, not the EN price.
At HOLYGRADE, you can order the OP-17 Japanese booster box as a pre-order — shipped from stock in Switzerland, insured, with no unexpected customs charges.

Frequently asked questions
Is OP-17 the 2026 anniversary set?
Yes. Bandai officially refers to OP-17 as the "4th Anniversary Booster Pack".
Is the Japanese or English version worth choosing?
For players: choose the version used by your community. For collectors of sealed products, the Japanese version has historically held its value better — and it is released six days earlier.
Can I pre-order OP-17 in Switzerland?
Yes, from HOLYGRADE as a Japanese booster box. It will be shipped directly from stock in Switzerland during release week.
